Road safety issues.

Issued: 3 Feb 2026

Status Update

Local officers continue to issue Section 59 warnings to vehicles identified as being used in antisocial behaviour. A Section 59 warning is used when a vehicle is driven in a way that causes, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance. If the same behaviour happens again within 12 months, the vehicle can be seized.

Several vehicles have already been seized from repeat offenders.

Community officers are also working closely with the local council and landowners to address the use of vehicles on private land and prevent further problems.
